Blue Ridge Parkway/Dragons Tail
Blue Ridge Parkway/Dragons Tail/Smokey Mnts
Our BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY/SMOKEY MNTS Guided Motorcycle Tour offers a rider the chance to see the beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smokey Mountains all rolled into one exciting Bucket List Motorcycle Excursion.
The scenery from Charlotte, North Carolina to Eastern Tennessee is filled with twisty roads, mountain tunnels, mountain streams, switchbacks and amazing views of the mountains from roads cut out along the very top crest of the highest peaks. It’s as if the people that designed the roads and the path many years ago had motorcycle enthusiast in mind.
Rolling out of Charlotte we ride into Little Switzerland, a picturesque town hugging the mountains. You will experience the roads, tunnels and bridges that have been voted “Most Exhilarating” by many of our guided motorcycle participants year after year.
As we pick up the Guided Motorcycle Tour and head east we pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway and experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Check the photo out of the Linn Cove Viaduct in our Scenic Gallery. We will literally be riding on the side of the mountain above the clouds. Priceless!
A day on the Blue Ridge Parkway is never over until you see the sunset over the mountain range. The sunsets here ALWAYS get voted as “Most Beautiful Sunset”, without a close second anywhere, by our guided motorcycle tour participants every year!
We’ll wake up ready for a new adventure and take our Guided Motorcycle Tour a little farther east into Tennessee. After lunch at the Fontana Dam Lodge and a rest break (trust me you’ll need it!!!) we take on the Dragon! The “Tail of The Dragon” has been voted in the Top 3 of all motorcycle roads in the United States since people began riding motorcycles. You will experience 318 curves in 11 miles. This road is voted “Most Challenging” EVERY YEAR by tour participants. But it is also the one road EVERYBODY wants to ride again!
We take a late afternoon ride back thru the Smokey Mountains and grab a well-deserved nights rest!
Our final morning of riding takes us thru Asheville and (if time/weather permits) we take in the “Biltmore Estate”. “The Biltmore” is the largest residential property in the United States.
We close the BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY/SMOKEY MNTS/TAIL OF THE DRAGON Guided Motorcycle with a hosted Farewell Party where we can share a few laughs and great memories before departing for home.

Day 1 – CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
Pick up motorcycle rentals/assignment and gear (helmets, gloves, etc)
Kick Stands up and we head Northeast from Charlotte to Little Switzerland riding scenic routes thru the mountains and switchbacks of the Blue Ridge Mountain Region.
Day 2 – LITTLE SWITZERLAND & BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY
These roads are amazing. You will experience the BEST motorcycle riding you have ever imagined as we explore the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tour participants from other parts of the USA or from International cities book the Blue Ridge Parkway 8 day Guided Motorcycle Tour with our company, at a very high rate, before we make into Eastern Tennessee.
Day 3 – TAIL OF THE DRAGON & SMOKEY MOUNTAINS
You haven’t ridden a motorcycle until you’ve ridden the Dragon. We will grab lunch at the Fontana Dam Lodge and ensure we are rested up for the challenge. Before slaying the dragon we will stop by Deal’s Gap Motorcycle Resort and visit the Tree of Shame. The tree holds parts from the motorcycles of the less fortunate that were overcome by the twist and turns of the Dragon. Word to the wise! Don’t push it past your limits on this road!
We wrap our Smokey Mountain Dragon filled day up with a nice drive across the mountain into North Carolina and wrap our tour up with a stop at the Biltmore Estate the next morning before departing.
Day 4 – ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
For those of you that shipped your bikes for the trip our staff will coordinate your shipment back home. For those of you that rented one of our bikes we get them checked back in before you depart for home.
