Southern Adventure

New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Dragons Tail

Tour Highlights

Our SOUTHERN ADVENTURE Guided Motorcycle Tour offers a rider the chance to see the Deep South in an all new light. We have great food, great music and great roads all rolled into one exciting 8 Day and 7 Night Bucket List Motorcycle Excursion.

We launch this adventure in New Orleans, a town known for music and food. Our riding routes will provide us with a beautiful contrast in scenery. We will ride through wetlands in the bayou and live oaks in other areas that look like they are thousands of years old as we ride by century old Antebellum Era homes.

As we make our north, we’ll pick up the Natchez Trace. The Trace will provide us with a scenic ride along one of the most peaceful roads you’ll ever ride on. Tree lined roads will provide you with a cool breeze no matter the time of year you are traveling on the Trace.

We make our way into Memphis and enjoy some Blues and BBQ on Beale Street. BB King made the area famous and don’t be surprised if you find yourself tapping your foot in rhythm at the dinner table. Beale Street is a great area to relax at the end of a good riding day.

On our way to Nashville, we stop at the King’s. Elvis Presley’s Graceland sits just outside of Memphis and we take a few minutes to walk the grounds and see the Jungle Room.

We roll into Nashville and pay a visit to “The Gulch” The Gulch has some of the best music venues and restaurants in the United States. Bring your cowboy boots for this night! You never know who you will see downtown and you want to make sure you fit in!

We take the scenic route out of Nashville and make our way to the Loveless Café. The Loveless Café is a Southern Tradition. You’ll see why when we take a seat at the lunch table. There just might be a little room in your saddlebag for a roll or two as we hit the road again. As we roll down the back roads of Tennessee we make our way to a little distillery in Lynchburg. The Jack Daniels Whiskey Distillery is always a nice place to stretch our legs and sample some of Jack’s Finest!

The highlight of the Southern Adventure Guided Motorcycle Tour is the “Tail of the Dragon”. We’ll venture out to the “Tail of the Dragon” via the Cherohala Skyway and experience the challenge it has to offer as well. After lunch at the Fontana Dam Lodge and a rest break (trust me you’ll need it!!!) we take on the Dragon! The “Tail of The Dragon” has been voted in the Top 3 of all motorcycle roads in the United States since people began riding motorcycles. You will experience 318 curves in 11 miles. This road is voted “Most Challenging” EVERY YEAR by tour participants. But it is also the one road EVERYBODY wants to ride again!

Our final morning of riding takes us thru Asheville and (if time/weather permits) we take in the “Biltmore Estate”. “The Biltmore” is the largest residential property in the United States.

We close the SOUTHERN ADVENTURE Guided Motorcycle with a hosted Farewell Party where we can share a few laughs and great memories before departing for home.

Tour Itinerary

Pre Ride Event – Welcome Gathering at hotel

Pick up motorcycle rentals/assignment and gear (helmets, gloves, etc)

Kick Stands up and we ride the bayou and wetlands of New Orleans. The history of New Orleans provides a great backdrop to our guided motorcycle tour as we wrap our first day with dinner and music on Bourbon Street.

As we throttle out of New Orleans the scenery we ride through will amaze you. From tree lined back roads to huge farms with majestic Antebellum Homes sitting just off the road. Once we are on the Natchez Trace, you’ll lose yourself in thought as to what the road was in years past.

From BB King to the King, Elvis that is, you will thoroughly enjoy Memphis. After a day of riding along the Mississippi River we will roll the guided motorcycle tour onto Beale Street for some great BBQ and a little Blues music. Don’t be surprised when you find yourself tapping your foot in rhythm at the dinner table.

After a little stop at Graceland we push east to Nashville. The back roads of Tennessee will definitely work up an appetite for you and we will make our way downtown to “The Gulch”. “The Gulch” has some of the best food and music venues you’ll find anywhere in America. You rest good tonight after a full day of RIDING!

You haven’t ridden a motorcycle until you’ve ridden the Dragon. We will grab lunch at the Fontana Dam Lodge and ensure we are rested up for the challenge. Before slaying the dragon we will stop by Deal’s Gap Motorcycle Resort and visit the Tree of Shame. The tree holds parts from the motorcycles of the less fortunate that were overcome by the twist and turns of the Dragon. Word to the wise! Don’t push it past your limits on this road!

These roads are amazing. You will experience the BEST motorcycle riding you have ever imagined as we explore the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles long and runs through 29 counties in North Carolina and Virginia. The views from the mountains can be as much as 100 miles on very clear days. You will be amazed at the views from the mountain top roads and the many scenic viewpoints we stretch our legs at.

As we move east on the Guided Motorcycle Tour we will encounter the beauty of the Linn Cove Viaduct on Grandfather Mountain. The 1243 – foot concrete segmental bridge snakes around the slopes of Grandfather Mountain. You literally feel as if you are driving on top of the clouds as you lean into the s curves of the viaduct and look at over the tops of the tress and clouds adjacent to the viaduct.

We gather together for our Farewell Dinner to share a few laughs together as we wrap up our guided motorcycle tour.

We wrap our Southern Adventure Guided Motorcycle Tour up with a stop at the Biltmore Estate the next morning prior to heading into Charlotte.
